PROBIAVI stops mould forming on germinated seeds

PROBIAVI prevents mould growing on germinated seeds. PROBIAVI includes a probiotic, effective in the treatment of exotic birds which is also used to protect farmers’ grain. The pediococcus acidilactici in specific PROBIAVI strains was tested by our laboratories in order to reduce the growth of, or prevent, various moulds from appearing on germinating seeds.

The results were better than we expected.

For our experiment, we used Canola seeds in a standard germinator. Two pots were used, one with and one without PROBIAVI, at a rate of 1 gram per 50 grams of seeds. We first rinsed our seeds with a water and bleach solution (2.5 ml per liter of water) and used the germinator as specified. After 3 days, we made a record of the results. The tests were repeated 10 times.

The results show that sprinkling PROBIAVI on germinated seeds completely eliminates the risk of mould proliferation (especially during hot periods).

This is another reason to use PROBIAVI for Birds as a supplement, it is not only good for your birds, but it also helps to preserve your germinated seeds !
